Tell my fans a little bit about yourself and your book.

I started writing Shadow Force 25 years ago, this was my first attempt at writing and it was accomplished on legal pads over the course of 10 years. It was only recently that I decided to update the book and release it to the world.

The publisher had the idea of releasing the book in 4 episodes, on hind sight I would rather have released it as a completed work. I think the story suffers some from being broken up into episodes. It is my intention to publish the re-edited version in paperback and Kindle next summer.

How would you introduce your book to someone that has yet to read it?

Shadow Force, is meant to be an action/adventure story set in a future that has seen the destruction of the Earth and the scattering of mankind throughout the galaxy. The problem, mankind took all their problems with them, never having learned to live together as one race.

How many books have you written? What are their titles?

I have completed only the one Shadow Force the first two episodes of which are now available on Kindle.

My almost completed Historical Novel, “Miami” Is the story of the founding of the city of Miami Florida as seen through the eyes of 2 fictional families; The O’Brien’s and the Carter’s. The story starts in 1908 when the population of Miami was only 347 people when Tom Kelley arrives in South Florida from Boston MA at the ripe age of 19, and will conclude in 1988 population over 3 million. Very few people realize that Miami was the last frontier town in America.

I am also working on a second Sci-fi series “Destiny’s Calling” And is a story of a galaxy run by corporations who place no value on human life. They breed workers for the skills they need and use drugs to suppress any hint of individual liberty. Destiny’s Calling” is the story of the rebels who are fighting to restore democratic rule.

What inspired you to start writing? What age did you start?

I never, ever considered being a writer, then one day driving home from work the story that became Shadow Force just sort of popped into my head. I wrote the first 25 pages or so that very night. I was in my early 30s at that point.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not writing?

I do like to spend as much time as I can by the water. I am lucky enough to live on the West Coast of Florida and really enjoy some of the more hidden places here. The places the tourist never hear of.

What advice would you give to an aspiring author?

Pay attention in school! I have the hardest time with grammar.

What’s the hardest thing about writing? The easiest?

Hardest is time… Not being independently wealthy I have a job that takes so much of my time. There is little left to spend writing.

Easiest, well I don’t think it is ever easy, but I really enjoy when a scene finally becomes clear in my head and I am able to get it down.

What are you currently reading?

I most recently finished, “Tijuana Nights” by Leigh K Hunt

What books did you read as a child?

Tom Swift comes to mind as well as J.R. Tolkien.

Do you listen to music while you write?

I just started working to music utilizing Pandora… Wish I had started that a long time ago.

Out of all of your characters, who is your favorite?

Jon Ryder, I wrote Shadow Force using his voice.

You’re stranded on a desert island. What books do you take with you?

The accumulated works of Piers Anthony, I think it was reading his books that inspired me to start writing.

What book(s) do you wish you would have written?

The Zanth series

Favorite book character?

Gandolf

What is your dream vacation destination?

South Pacific Islands

Do you have any interesting dreams or goals?

I’m not sure if it is interesting but I would love to be able to retire and live aboard a modest boat. One that I could travel the Caribbean in.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I see myself starting to make some money from writing, and hopefully gaining an audience.

If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?

“Never say Never”
