Tell my fans a little bit about yourself and your book(s).

I grew up on a farm in the Catskill Mountains of NY, the youngest of three children. My siblings were much older, so I had to entertain myself on rainy or snowy days when going outside wasn’t possible. Reading was a great way to escape the mundane and travel to exotic places. When I ran out of books, I tried my hand at writing stories.

Tired of the upstate NY winters and intrigued with AZ, I sold my home and moved to Tucson.

During this these years, I wrote a little, but after retirement, my wife urged me to continue writing full time. I joined a local writing group, and started working on 3 novels, one at a time. A few years later I joined LinkedIn 750 writers http://www.writers750.com and with kind critiques as well as helpful ones, I started submitting stories. The novels I write are historical fiction, but the short stories cover all genre.

How would you introduce your books to someone that has yet to read them?

The anthologies my stories appear in are a diverse mixture of short stories based on a certain prompt, written by talented writers. The stories vary from light-hearted to mysterious and supernatural. There is a story to please every mood, and will tantalize your imagination, from dinosaurs to deep space, from mythical to paranormal, alien to earth dweller. My novel is set at the beginning of the Roman Empire, a story of love, passion, deceit, and war.

How many books have you written? What are their titles?

I’ve contributed to 7 short story anthologies, 2 science fiction anthologies, and published my first novel this year.

Giant Tales Series:

Giant Tales From the Misty Swamp, Book2: Freedom Flight

Giant Tales World of Pirates, Book3: Caribbean Goddess

Giant Tales Dangerous Days Book 4: St. John’s Lily & View

Giant Tales Apocalypse Lava Storm in the Neighborhood: Nature’s Raw Power Unleashed : My Brother’s Keeper

A Good Tale Series:

Trash to Treasure: 3D T. C.

Violet Hopes: Winning Violets

Science Fiction Anthology Books:

The Future is Short Science Fiction in a Flash 31 Authors : Contact of the Unfortunate Kind & Every Man Dies, But Not Every Man Lives

Leaving Earth: Star Climber

In August, I published my novel, “Soldier of Rome”, in Amazon E-book format.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not writing?

Gardening, helping my wife around the house, reading, playing (not well) the Native American flute, training my Rottie or playing with her, lunch dates with friends and fellow writers, photography, travel, wood working, painting pictures, and assisting friends and neighbors with anything they need.

What advice would you give to an aspiring author?

Write with your heart, and soul; put everything you have into it. Never give up persevere, Write hot, edit cold.

What’s your favorite scene/line from your works?

Ammon drew a trembling breath and closed his eyes. “I held the horses for Hassine’s men. It’s my fault you’re hurt and the soldier got killed.” He turned and pressed his face against his uncle’s tunic, sobbing.

What are you currently reading?

Clive Cussler’s The Mayan Secrets”

What are you currently working on?

A second book in the series, “Soldier of Rome”, and editing a book of my short, paranormal stories.

What books did you read as a child?

The Black Stallion series, animal stories, Robert Lewis Stevenson, Robert Service, and the classics.

How has your life changed since you began writing?

Historical novels require research and I spend (sometimes) more time researching than writing. Writing demands more of my time and I spend less time doing what needs to be done, than I should. I enjoy life more than ever.

Out of all of your characters, who is your favorite?

That’s like asking a parent to pick their favorite child, but Centurion Marius Severus, the protagonist in Officer of Rome, is my favorite.

What do you want readers to take away from your books?

No matter what time frame people live in, past, present or future, be it alien life form or human, we al face the same desires, problems and needs.

Most of all the feeling of satisfaction of a tale well told.

What is your dream vacation destination?

The Australian out back, or South Africa

Do you have any interesting dreams or goals?

Space travel, but a best seller would be great.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Still writing and enjoying life with family and friends.

If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?

He Did it His Way
